TimberRidge plans activities in open house
The TimberRidge Adventure Center Open House will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 25 at 12300 Homestead Lane, Olathe.
Activities include archery, BB gun shooting, slingshot, canoeing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, pedal boating, campfire snack (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and other opportunities. Participants need to be 8 years or older for the BB gun and archery range activities. The center is owned by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
Fishing is available, however participants ages 16 and older are required to have Kansas State fishing license. Licenses will not be sold on site. Cops n' Bobbers will be on site with poles and bait available for use or attendees may bring their own.
The Hawks Nest Climbing Tower will be open to participants ages 10 and older from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Climbers are required to complete medical and liability releases prior to participating.
Forms will be available at the Welcome Center and the climbing tower. Participants must bring their form to the tower in order to climb. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian's signature.

With the exception of this annual event, TimberRidge Adventure Center is available only through programming or rentals and is not open to the public.

Spring break fun set at Matt Ross
Looking for something to do with the grandkids this spring break?

Mah Jongg event planned April 28
Ready to shuffle, strategize and score? Join Johnson County Park and Recreation District's 50 Plus Program for the Tiles and Tulips Mah Jongg Tournament at 9:30 a.m. April 28 at New Century Fieldhouse.
Players rotate tables, track wins and compete for prizes. They must bring their own Mah Jongg card.
