Public input sessions for Johnson County's redistricting process will allow members of the public to learn more about why we are redistricting, ask questions, share thoughts and view proposed maps of redrawn county commission districts. Members of the public will also be able to learn how to draw their own maps. 

Different public engagement sessions will be held for each district. This session will take place for District 5 with Commissioner Ashcraft.

About the Redistricting Process

Johnson County is divided into six commissioner districts. The goal is to keep the districts “as compact and equal in population as possible.”

Due to growth in some areas of the county compared to other areas, the time has come to go through a redistricting process, which hasn’t been done since 2013.
