Johnson County's RideKC Freedom paratransit eligibility reopens Aug. 4
Beginning Monday, Aug. 4, Johnson County’s RideKC Freedom will reopen its paratransit eligibility process. At that time, Johnson County Transit will begin accepting new applications and recertifications using an updated process and improved materials.
No applications or recertifications will be accepted prior to Aug. 4. Only the new application will be accepted once the process reopens.
What’s changing?
- A new, updated application will be available online by mid-July.
- Transit has simplified the application and created a new Ride Guide to better explain eligibility and services.
- All customer calls will now go through a single number: 913-362-3500. You’ll be able to select the eligibility and mobility option once the new menu is live in August.
- A new email — mobilityservices@jocogov.org — will serve as the main contact for paratransit eligibility and service-related questions starting in August.
What if I’m a current customer?
If you're already using RideKC Freedom, you will not lose service while we complete our eligibility audit. Transit will reach out to current customers during August and September with updated ride guides and additional resources, whether you remain eligible or need help exploring other transportation options.
For questions about your current status, call 913-362-3500, option 2.
