Johnson County’s Youth and Family Services Center in Olathe will be open as a safe, warm daytime space this Thanksgiving Day when other public buildings are closed.

The warming center will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27. Phone charging, snacks and hot drinks will be available at the facility at 920 W. Spruce St. in Olathe.

This additional warming center will supplement other warming centers in Johnson County that are only open during their host building’s normal operating business hours, which typically do not include holidays.

It will be activated in partnership with Johnson County Government and United Community Services of Johnson County.

While Johnson County Library’s branches and both Olathe Public Library branches normally serve as warming centers during their operating hours, they will be closed and will not be available on Nov. 27 and 28.

Information on other warming centers in Johnson County is available at jocogov.org/winter.
