Homebound residents can receive vaccinations
Staying healthy during flu season is important, especially if it’s hard to leave the house. That’s why the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is bringing flu and COVID vaccinations directly to homebound residents.
If you or someone you care for is unable to travel due to limited mobility, paralysis or being on a ventilator, JCDHE’s outreach nurses can come to your home starting in October, once the flu and COVID vaccines are available.
These at-home vaccinations are a safe and easy way to stay protected through the respiratory illness season, which can linger through the spring.
Most Medicare plans cover both vaccines at no cost to you.
JCDHE is committed to keeping all members of our community healthy, especially those who face challenges getting to a clinic. Don’t miss out on this free and convenient service.
