CFS Programs

JCMHC’s Children and Family Services team leads parent support groups and classes designed to help caregivers feel more confident, connected and supported in their parenting journey. Parenting can be a mix of joy, challenges and exhaustion, and these groups provide a safe, judgment-free space to learn actionable strategies and connect with others facing similar challenges.

Topics may include strengthening parent-child relationships, setting expectations, managing high-stress moments, navigating behavioral or safety concerns and supporting your own well-being as a caregiver. Groups are thoughtfully guided by trained professionals who understand the complexities of family dynamics.

Free Parenting and Childcare Provider Resources

Children and teens can develop the same mental health conditions as adults, but their symptoms may be different or hard to identify. If you need help recognizing concerning behaviors and connecting children to services, this page has free resources for parents and caregivers.

This free nine-week class empowers caregivers to feel more confident in their parenting journey and provides an opportunity connect with others going through similar experiences in a safe space. Participants will learn ways to better connect with their child and become more confident in parent-child attachment, establishing expectations, managing crises, burnout and self-care and more.

Sibling Connect

Sibling Connect supports children who have a sibling experiencing mental health challenges. This program offers dedicated time for these siblings to have fun, connect with peers who share similar experiences and strengthen their bond with their parent or caregiver. Through engaging, family-friendly activities outside of a clinical setting, children have the opportunity to feel supported, valued and less alone in their experience.

Third Thursdays

Books with text that says, "Third Thursdays: Shelf Help"

Parents and caregivers meet on the third Thursday of each month to receive support or engage in guided discussions with an experienced facilitator. Previous discussions have included implementing strategies and ideas from parenting books and incorporating self-care into a caregiver's busy lifestyle.

With conversations grounded in a connection-focused approach, parents and caregivers leave each session with practical strategies, helpful information and new perspectives.
