Older Americans Month marks 60th year in May
Established in 1963, Older Americans Month is celebrated every May.
JoCo Library eliminates overdue fines
Johnson County Library patrons checking out books, DVDs or other materials from any of our 14 branches no longer have to worry about the assessment of a fine for items returned after their due date. In addition, existing overdue fines have been removed from most patron accounts.

Sanitary sewers protect public health and the environment. They carry wastewater flows from sinks, dishwashers, showers, washing machines, toilets and industrial sources via underground pipes to a wastewater treatment plant.

Emergency Housing Voucher Program offers financial incentives to landlords
Johnson County needs to partner with landlords or property managers to meet their goal of 30 units (1–3 bedrooms) utilizing Emergency Housing Vouchers by September 30, 2023. Not meeting this goal could mean losing these vouchers.

Johnson County Library started in the early 1950s in the homes of local families, schools and businesses, including a plumber and a barbershop! Our first official branch, Antioch Library, opened in 1956 off Shawnee Mission Parkway.
