Whether you’re just beginning your fitness journey or looking to take your routine to the next level, the Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus Department is launching a new lineup of fall exercise classes to help you thrive. Each class is designed to meet you where you are, building strength, supporting your goals and promoting lasting wellness.

The Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Drive, recently underwent a renovation, refreshing its facilities to serve the wellness needs of the community, and now offers a fitness center orientation. This 30-minute session is a great introduction for those eager to learn how to safely use weight machines and free weights.

Expert staff guide participants through equipment basics to help build confidence and maximize results. Sessions are available for $20/$22 for nonresidents.

For those with specific fitness goals, the personal training program offers a customized fitness plan tailored to your unique goals. Whether it’s losing weight, building strength, improving endurance or enhancing overall well-being, the program will support all your needs and goals.

If a full body exercise program is more your style, the total body tone class at the Roeland Park Fitness Center is a must.

This dynamic workout targets major muscle groups through an engaging mix of free weights, machines, resistance bands and bodyweight exercises. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and promises a rewarding workout every time. The program offers four 45-minute sessions at $38/$42 for nonresidents starting on Sept. 9, Oct. 7 and Nov. 4.

More information about Roeland Park classes and registration is available by calling 913-826-3160.

50 Plus has also expanded exercise programs at New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Pkwy. Starting in September, Forever Fit Cardio enhances coordination, balance and heart health with boxing-inspired movements like jab-cross punches and front kicks. Open to all fitness levels, this class is not only a fun way to get moving but a solid step toward feeling more energized each day.

Try our free introductory class on Sept. 9 and register for a full program with five 50-minute sessions at $43/$47 nonresidents starting on Sept. 23 and Nov. 18.

Daily movement from bending and lifting to walking confidently requires balance, core strength and coordination. The fieldhouse is offering strength and stability classes aimed at improving mobility and resilience through targeted exercises using weights, bands and functional movement patterns. It’s a perfect fit for those looking to move more fluidly and feel stronger in everyday life.

Start with a free introductory class on Sept. 11 and register for a full program with five 50-minute sessions at $43/$47 nonresidents beginning on Sept. 25 and Nov. 6.
