As the weather heats up, Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus Department is set to offer sizzling trips and travel-themed programs, including:
Museum launches special digital ‘REDLINED’ exhibit
The Johnson County Museum has launched a digital version of its 2022 special exhibition, “REDLINED: Cities, Suburbs, and Segregation.”
Overnight fishing set at 3 parks
Summer fun includes an invitation for residents of all ages to grab their fishing poles and lanterns for overnight fishing opportunities at three park lakes in the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
Summer walk visits gardens
A summer walk throughout Meadowbrook Park’s native gardens is planned at 9 a.m. July 17 at the park, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village.
Event offers fun, games for all ages
The opportunity to enjoy Gamin’ with the Grandkids will take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, 11902 Lowell Ave., Overland Park.
Classes help tech confidence
Johnson County Park and Recreation District’ s 50 Plus Program offers several types of classes with a patient instructor in a supportive learning environment for aging adults to embrace technology involving basic computer and smartphone usage at navigating the internet and using social media.
