50 Plus Travel goes on the road

Residents are invited to join Johnson County Park and Recreation’s 50 Plus on the road for more adventures of history, culture and interesting characters in the upcoming March and April travel opportunities, including:

Water makes a big splash at exhibit

“Ripples: Water, Community and You,” will run through Jan. 11, 2026. This exhibit takes visitors on a journey through the history of water in Johnson County, revealing how this essential resource has continuously influenced our environment and community development.

County parks begin summer hours

Summer hours of 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. go into effect March 1 through Oct. 31 for many Johnson County Park and Recreation District parks.

Singles fling set April 25

Sponsored by 50 Plus, a Singles Spring Fling is set from 2:30 to 4 p.m. April 25 at the Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., Overland Park.

Bingo offers lots of fun

A 50 Plus Bingo 100 Times the Fun will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. March 5 at the Matt Ross Community Center, Overland Park.

Event on April 4 details Dole Institute

The 50 Plus Lunch & Learn program scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m. April 4 will feature the “Dole Institute of Politics” by Julie Clover, public education director from the institute at Lawrence.

Pickleball lessons are available

Warmer weather is on the horizon, which means outdoor pickleball is almost back!

50 Plus is offering beginning pickleball lessons at 9 a.m. March 19 and April 16 at the Matt Ross Community Center and at 1 p.m. March 5 and April 2 at the New Century Fieldhouse.

TimberRidge plans open house

The annual open house at the TimberRidge Adventure Center, 12300 Homestead Lane, Olathe,will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 26.
