AHS celebrates 50 years of Johnson County service
This August marks a special milestone of 50 years of service for the Department of Aging and Human Services. What began in 1975 as the Office of Human Resources has grown into a vital resource for the community.
Area Plan on Aging
As a federally designated Area Agency on Aging, the Johnson County Area Agency on Aging prepares an Area Plan on Aging every four years. The Area Plan describes the AAA’s future activities over the coming four years detailing the specific services to be provided to the older adults of Johnson County.
About Aging and Human Services
Johnson County Aging and Human Services (AHS) was created by a resolution of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), on August 5, 1975. AHS provides services and programs targeted to older adults, individuals with disabilities and low-income residents.
