Environmental Records Requests
Johnson County Department of Health and Environment maintain records of spill investigations, illegal dumping complaints, underground storage tank incidents, septic systems, and other types of environmental concerns that have been investigated by Environmental Division staff. There is a charge for this service.
Small Quantity Generator Hazardous Waste Disposal
Businesses and organizations such as churches, schools, government agencies, and non-profit groups, can use our Small Quantity Generator disposal program.
Waste Diversion Assistance
Johnson County Department of Health and Environment provides up to $500 in assistance to qualifying businesses and organizations through the Green Business Program. Assistance money can go towards supplies or equipment that leads to waste diversion including bins and signage. Assistance money can not be used to pay hauling, transportation, or processing costs.
Solid Waste Management Plan
The Solid Waste Management Plan is a long-term planning document that is created by Environmental Division staff along with input from the Solid Waste Management Committee, industry professionals, community groups, and public comments. This page contains information on current and previous plans, the Solid Waste Management Code, and Waste Characterization Studies.
Solid Waste Management Committee
The Solid Waste Management Committee is responsible for the preparation and oversight of a Solid Waste Management Plan and is made up of city representatives and representatives from industry and community groups.

Disposal Facilities
