Silver Haired members approve issues

The Kansas Silver Haired Legislature held its annual statewide member meeting on Oct. 3-5 in Topeka. During the 2023 meeting, SHL members discussed, debated and voted upon issues that were presented to the entire membership. The SHL encompasses Kansas seniors 60 and above.

Upcoming COA meeting

Medicare Open Enrollment ends Dec. 7

Medicare Open Enrollment, which began Oct. 15, runs to Dec. 7. During this time, people eligible for Medicare can compare 2024 coverage options on Medicare.gov or meet with a SHICK (Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansans) counselor.

AHS event honors volunteers

After a four-year wait, Aging and Human Services held its first in-person Volunteer Appreciation event on Oct. 4, welcoming more than 130 AHS volunteers and guests.

Observance recognizes family caregivers during November

November is a time to show support and to honor our nation’s vital caregivers during National Family Caregivers Month. It offers an opportunity to raise awareness of caregiving issues, educate communities and increase support for caregivers.
