Today, the Board of County Canvassers certified the official results of the Nov. 4, 2025, general election.

Total voter turnout was 25.07%, with 116,400 voters casting a ballot. For the November general election, 35,100 voters chose to vote early in person, while 15,452 ballots were cast by mail.

The Johnson County Election Office spent the days leading up to the canvass on Nov. 12 reviewing and verifying challenged and provisional ballots as well as write-in votes.

“We are able to conduct these elections because of the hard work put in by the more than 1,000 election workers who dedicate their time and effort to this process,” Johnson County Election Commissioner Fred Sherman said. “We deeply appreciate their essential contributions.”

On Friday, Nov. 7, a post-election audit was conducted in accordance with state law for the general election. A random selection of contests and precincts were drawn after Election Day. A bi-partisan team of election workers performed a manual hand count in the selected precincts. The results of that audit were compared with unofficial results produced by the certified voting system. The audit confirmed the manual count matched the machine’s tabulation.

Final election results, as well as details on the audit, can be found at jocoelection.org.
