Prohibited and Restricted Businesses
These businesses and individuals are restricted from operating as a result of civil cases brought by the District Attorney’s Office under the authority of the Kansas Consumer Protection Act, K.S.A. 50-623 et seq.
Child in Need of Care
In 2024 the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office filed 312 Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases based on abuse and neglect or dangerous conduct on the part of the minor child, and 244 CINC cases based on truancy or the failure to attend school as required by law.
Adult Diversion Program
The diversion program is intended to give a "second chance" to offenders who commit a relatively minor criminal offense.
Juvenile Diversion
Effective July 1, 2020, Intermediate Intervention Programs (Diversion) came under the administration of the District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office decides which juveniles are accepted into the program and monitors compliance with the contracts.

Veterans Treatment Court
The Johnson County Veterans Treatment Court (“VTC”) is a program for Justice Involved Veterans who are charged with criminal offenses in Johnson County District Court that offers supervised treatment and supportive services as an alternative to incarceration.
Mental Health Diversion
The Mental Health Diversion Program may be available to defendants whose offense is correlated with a Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
In-Person/Walk-In Diversion
Traffic Diversion is an opportunity to have your citation dismissed if you comply with the terms of your Diversion.
Victim Resources
There are many resources available to the residents of Johnson County, KS who have experienced victimization.
Domestic Violence Division
The purpose of the Domestic Violence Division of the Johnson County District Attorney's Office is to charge and prosecute criminal cases in which the victim and the defendant have some type of domestic relationship.
