A criminal record that has been "expunged" means that to most persons or agencies outside the court system, it can be treated as if it never occurred.

Formal Traffic Diversion

Eligibility for Formal Traffic Diversion is determined on a case-by-case basis and requires an application process. (Click here) If your citation includes any of the offenses listed above, you must submit the required Diversion Application and $30 application fee to determine your eligibility for Diversion.

Consumer Protection

The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office has developed the Consumer Protection Unit to educate consumers and to address complaints by consumers against area merchants.

Protection Orders

The Victim Assistance Unit has a staff of advocates who assist victims through the protection order process. The advocates also provide assistance in crisis intervention, offer resources, referrals to social service agencies and safety planning.

Electronic Discovery

The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office has transitioned to an all-electronic discovery system.

Victims of Property Crime

Each year in Johnson County, thousands of people become victims of property crime. In many circumstances, victims do not have the financial resources to replace or repair their property. Often, the property damaged or stolen is vital to their welfare or their livelihood.
